It is believed that Lord Parshuram was born on this day. Lord Parshuram is considered to be the 6th Avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu. He was born as the son of Maharishi Jamadagni rishi and Renuka in a Brahmin family of Janapav mountain of village Manpur in indore district of Madhya Pradesh. 

Lord Parshuram destroyed the evil tyrannical Kshatriyas from the earth 21 times. He also taught war skills to the Kshatriyas. Lord Parshuram is among the 7 Chiranjeevis. According to Mahabharata and Vishnupuran, Lord Parshuram’s original name was Ram, but when Lord Shiva gave him his weapon named Parshu, his name became Parashuram.
