Navratri 9th Day: Maa Siddhidatri, Know the Worship Method and Mantra

On the 9th day of chaitra navratri, Maa Siddhidatri is worshipped. This year worship of Maa Siddhidatri will take place on April 17, 2024.

During Navratri, we worship 9 forms of Maa Durga. Among these, Devi Siddhidatri is the ninth form. There is a tradition of worshipping Maa Siddhidatri on the ninth day of Navratri. By worshipping Maa Siddhidatri on this day, one gets a worthy child. Also, the wishes of the devotees fulfils and they get happiness and good fortune.

This year, in Chaitra Navratri 2024, the worship of Maa Siddhidatri will take place on April 17th, 2024. 

Who is Maa Siddhidatri? (Maa Siddhidatri Significance)

Maa Siddhidatri is the ninth one in the nine forms of Maa Durga. Siddhi means the ability to meditate and the one who has supernatural powers and Dhatri means the one who provides or the one who is the giver. She is also known by the name of Ardhanarishwara. 

Devi Maa Siddhidatri holds chakra, mace, lotus, and shankh in all her four hands. She sits on a lotus and her face shows divine energy. She removes ignorance and provides knowledge powers to her  devotees. 

Also, Goddess Siddhidatri rules Ketu. She offers great motivation and provides disciplined life to her devotees. She blesses her devotees with great Siddhis. Maa Siddhidatri favourite colour is Peacock Green.

Maa Siddhidatri Puja Vidhi

  • On April 17, 2024, on the eighth day, after taking bath in the morning, meditate and pray Devi Mata Siddhidatri.
  • After cleaning the place where you have done Ghatasthapana, place the idol or photo of Mata Siddhidatri on a red or yellow cloth.
  • Now apply Tilak to Mata Siddhidatri with Kumkum and Akshat.
  • Worship Goddess Siddhidatri properly by offering bhog to her.
  • Mata Siddhidatri likes white colour very much, hence offering white flowers and offerings to her.
  • Before concluding the puja, recite the worship mantras of Mata Siddhidatri.

After that you should recite Durga Saptshati and Aarti of Mata Siddhidatri.

Day 9 Maa Siddhidatri Bhog (Maa Siddhidatri Prasad)

To please Goddess Siddhidatri, there is a tradition of offering Til Gur ki Chikki on the ninth day of Navratri. Doing this brings sweetness and happiness and prosperity in life. Also, you can offer other bhog and prasad which include Til ke laddoo.

Maa Siddhidatri Story (Maa Siddhidatri katha)

As per the hindu religion there is a story of Mata Siddhidatri. Once upon a time, there was darkness everywhere. A bright light formed during that time. The brightness enlarged and took the form of a Goddess. Such a form is now known as Mata Siddhidatri. 

It is believed that Maa Siddhidatri is the one who gave birth to Tridev i.e., Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. All the Gods provided their powers to her and later on she killed Mahishasur. 

Also, whoever worships Mata Siddhidatri gets free from their evils and their vibes fill with positivity and harmony.
