How to Celebrate Ganga Saptami 2024? (Ganga Saptami Puja Vidhi 2024)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On the day of Ganga Saptami, the Ganga Pujan Rituals involves waking up early on the Brahma Muhurta and taking a bath in river Ganga. If this is not possible for you, then mix Ganga water in the bathing water at home and take a bath. After this, offer flowers, vermillion, gulal, red flowers, red sandalwood on the picture of Mother Ganga or in the river Ganga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Hindu religion, Maa Ganga first descended on earth on the day of Ganga Dussehra, but sage Jahnu drank all the Ganga water. Then all the gods and Bhagiratha requested Jahnu to release Maa Ganga. After this, on the day of Ganga Saptami, Maa Ganga again came to earth and that is why this day is also called Jahnu Saptami. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another story related to Ganga Saptami is that, once, King Bhagiratha of Kosala was troubled because his ancestors were suffering from the sins of bad deeds. Bhagiratha wanted to be free from this, so he performed rigorous penance to Lord Brahma and Lord Brahma assured him that Ganga would come to earth, purify the souls of his ancestors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But he knew that the flow of Goddess Ganga can destroy everything, so Brahma ji asked Bhagiratha to worship Lord Shiva because only he can control the flow of Ganga. So he pleased Lord Shiva with his rigorous penance and on this auspicious day Maa Ganga descended on earth, hence Maa Ganga is also known as Bhagirathi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
