How to do Ganesh Visarjan? (Ganesh Visarjan Vidhi)

If possible, do the immersion in a reservoir or river near your home. Nowadays artificial immersion kunds are also used, so that the environment is not harmed. You can do the immersion as per your convenience. Read below the method of Ganesh Visarjan –

Before immersion, decorate the place of worship with beautiful flowers and lamps in front of Ganesha.

Perform the final aarti of Ganesha. Sing bhajans like “Jai Ganesh Deva” and “Sukhkarta Dukhharta” during the aarti.

Offer modaks, laddoos, fruits, and sweets to Ganesha. Distribute the prasad among family and friends.

Offer coconut, betel leaf, betel nut, and some coins to Ganesha, which will be floated in the water along with the immersion.

At the time of immersion, you can recite this mantra:

Om Yantu Devgana: Sarve Pujaamadaya Maamkim. Ishta Kaam Samriddhiyartham Punaraapi Punaraagamanaya Cha॥

Om Modaya Namah Om Pramodaya Namah Om Sumukhaya Namah Om Durmukhaya Namah Om Avidhyanaya Namah Om Vighnakarate Namah॥

With this mantra, request Ganesha to come back next year and shower his blessings on you.

For immersion, wrap the Ganesha idol in a clean cloth and take it to the water body.

Before immersion, chant the praises of Ganpati Bappa, and then slowly immerse the idol in the water.

After immersion, bow down to the feet of Ganesha and express gratitude to him.

Pray for his blessings to bring happiness, prosperity, and peace in your life.
