  • Some people fast on this day. They pray to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kuber. They also pray to Lord Hanuman. People make”Prasad” using rice, sesame seeds, jaggery, and coconut. They serve many delicious foods made from fresh rice.
  • People visit temples, especially those of Maa Lakshmi. In some places, they also offer food to their ancestors. This tradition is more common in western India.

A goddess named Kali got very angry at Narakasura. She fought him and won. Lord Krishna was happy that Maa Kali won by defeating Narakasura.
