Maa Skandamata Puja Vidhi: During Navratri, 9 forms of Maa Durga are worshipped. Among these, Devi Skandamata is the fifth form. There is a tradition of worshipping Maa Skandamata on the fifth day of Navratri. By worshipping Maa Skandamata on this day, one gets a worthy child. Skandamata is the fifth incarnation of Maa Durga. Skandamata’s name is made up of two words, Skanda and Mata.

Skanda means Kartikeya, who is the son of Maa Parvati and Mata means mother. Thus, Skandamata is a form of Mata Parvati.

The form of Skandamata is very beautiful. Skandamata’s vahan is a lion. Skandamata is the presiding goddess of Vishuddhi Chakra.

Maa Skandamata Puja Vidhi

• On April 13, 2024, on Panchami, after taking bath in the morning, meditate on Skandamata.
• Clean the place where you have done Ghatasthapana and place the idol or photo of Skandamata on a red or yellow cloth.
• Now apply tilak of Skandmata with kumkum and akshat.
• Worship Skandmata in the prescribed manner by offering incense to her.
• Skandmata likes yellow colour very much, hence offering yellow flowers and offerings to her.
• Before concluding the puja, recite the worship mantras of Skandamata.
• After that you should recite Durga Saptashati and Skandmata Aarti.
• By reciting these mantras all the wishes are fulfilled.

Bananas should be offered to Maa Skandmata on the fifth day of Navratri. Mata becomes pleased with this and blesses her with good health. It also provides fame and happiness and prosperity.

Maa Skandamata Vrat Story

According to the Hindu Religion, there was a demon named Tarakasura, whose terror was very great. But no one could end Tarakasura. Because his end was possible at the hands of Lord Shiva’s son Kartikeya. In such a situation, Maa Parvati took the form of Skandamata to train her son Skanda i.e. Kartikeya for war. After taking combat training from Skandamata, Kartikeya killed Tarakasura.

By worshipping Mata Skandmata and reading and listening to the story, one gets the happiness of having children. By the grace of Skandamata even a fool becomes wise. It is said that the Raghuvansham epic and Meghduk compositions written by Kalidas became possible only by the grace of Goddess Skandamata.
